This One is for Chuck

Get well Charlie.

No school work or ramblings this time.  If you have not heard by now U.S. national team 23-year-old forward, Charlie Davies was in a terrible auto accident early Tuesday morning.  Driving along George Washington Memorial Parkway at about 3:15 a.m., the vehicle containing Davies and two other people crashed, tearing the SUV in half

The name of the driver has yet to be released.  One passenger, a 22-year-old female was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.  Davies was flown by helicopter to the hospital due to the severity of his injuries.

Davies is still in the hospital and will likely be for atleast another week.  The U.S. will try to regain focus as they face Costa Rica in D.C. tonight.  For those who are attending you are encouraged to go here and print out the no.9 sign and hold it up during the entire ninth minute of the match.

It’s a terrible thing to happen to such a promising young man, let alone athlete.  My thoughts and prayers go out to Davies, the driver, and the girl who was killed as well as thier families.

Get well Chuck…
